This environmentally friendly approach can also come with green material science. In one of our projects in Surabaya, BYO Living covers the entire midrise building skin out of woven panels made of recycled industrial plastic waste. We develop a tilted frame opening for passive cooling airflow.

Challenges

The raw materials are developed from industrial leftovers to reduce waste and to contribute to a better environment. This project also targets the industry standard of the highest green building certification.

Solution

With our rapid development, BYO Living have innovated architectural technologies to incorporate weaving into buildings. Our research team have found that besides of the lightweight aspect, the weaving system can filter light and air circulation of a building. A combination that could lead to an ultimate energy-reduction strategy for green buildings.
