Jati Kopi Flagship Store
Bandung
Jati Kopi’s flagship store draws from Bandung’s architectural heritage, with its weaving pattern inspired by the city’s modernist architecture and Dutch Rationalist influences. The elevated woven facade creates a lightweight architectural layer that connects the building with its surrounding landscape while introducing a distinctive material expression.

The Challenges
The facade needed to translate architectural references from Bandung into a contemporary weaving pattern while also responding to the environmental conditions of the site. The woven layer had to maintain a sense of openness and lightness while contributing to thermal comfort within the space.
A modular geometric pattern combining linear elements, open grids, and nested rectangular forms. Its varied density creates a lightweight, porous facade that reflects Bandung’s modernist architectural character while supporting airflow and filtered light.

The Solutions
BYO Living developed an elevated woven facade that interprets the geometric character of Bandung’s modernist architecture through weaving. Beyond its visual expression, the facade works as a passive cooling layer by filtering direct sunlight and supporting airflow, helping to improve comfort within the interior.
