The Challenges
To repurpose existing baggage claim belts into functional seating while preserving their material character and adapting them to the requirements of a public airport environment.

A structured interlocking weave made from reclaimed baggage belts, using broad strips to create a dense and durable surface. The pattern transforms the material’s industrial character into a tactile expression of reuse and craftsmanship.

The Solutions
BYO Living worked with Indonesian artisans to reweave the reclaimed baggage belts into custom seating elements. The process combines existing industrial materials with traditional weaving techniques, creating functional furniture that connects material reuse with Indonesian craftsmanship.
