The Challenges
The project required the translation of the Hermès logo into a woven installation while maintaining precise lines and consistent proportions. The intricate vertical weaving also needed to preserve the delicate character of the craft while achieving the clarity and refinement required for the design.
Through computerization, the intricate Hermès logo was translated into a precise weaving composition, allowing complex details to be achieved through handcraft. Despite the digital development process, the final artwork remains entirely handwoven.

The Solutions
BYO Living applied the alur weaving technique, using hundreds of closely aligned vertical strands to construct the logo with subtle variations in natural rattan tones. The handmade process sharpens traditional weaving craftsmanship into a highly precise architectural element, balancing the raw character of the material with the refined expression of the installation.
