Desa Potato Head extends its commitment to a more sustainable future through the reuse of post-consumer plastic. Across the complex, 1.7 tons of PET plastic were reworked by BYO Living’s sourcing team and master weavers into progressive geometric woven ceilings. The same approach extends into bespoke furniture pieces developed with TOO GOOD, incorporating recycled plastic bottles into each design.

The Challenges

The challenge was to transform a substantial volume of discarded PET plastic into architectural and furniture elements while maintaining the material’s functional and visual qualities. The recycled material needed to work across different applications without losing the crafted character of the final pieces.

The Solutions

BYO Living reprocessed 1.7 tons of PET plastic and developed it into woven components using geometric patterns for the ceilings throughout Desa Potato Head. Recycled plastic bottles were also incorporated into the framework of bespoke furniture pieces with TOO GOOD, giving discarded materials a new application within the complex.
